Hi I'm Gareth, A foolish Welshman that has found himself living in Scotland. I adore live music and this all started back in University when a friend dragged me along to my first gig and I saw Travis. From then on I spent a lot of time going to see bands from rubbish uni bands that had formed one drunken night to the mighty Blur. When I finished uni there was a 10 year gap between gigs (long story). Now though, on any given day of the week I can be found in the venues of Glasgow. With regards to my music taste I love anything with great lyrics and heavy drums. When I was younger (and still am) I was obsessed with a band called Alisha's Attic. When not at a gig I will be found at my computer playing games like Prison Architect, Hearthstone and Wolfenstein.

Courage My Love, live at Garage Attic, Glasgow

Starting The night off was local pop punks Wasted Summer. The one thing that instantly catches your attention about this band is Steph’s impressive vocals, she is able to mix it up with holding those notes or add grit for some edginess. However, tonight was not her greatest performance, as at times her breathing let her down […]

Harbour Sharks “A History OF Violence”

“A History of Violence” kick of with “False Flags“. This is a great opening track and instantly catches your attention with its gritty beat which kicks at you to pay attention. The track has a political underlying message which you should at least listen too. Carrying on from this, “The Killer Inside Me” pushes into a […]

Harbour Sharks Release ‘False Flags’

When governments disregard their citizens for their own greed, the music scene usually fronts the charge, voicing the repressed frustrations of the people. Harbour Sharks have risen to this with their new single ‘False Flags’. A politically charged glimpse into a murky corner of Harbour Sharks psyche, with hushed shoulder-shuffle beats and infectious, echoing riffs, ‘False Flags‘ bursts […]

Dorje, Audio, Glasgow

Today’s gig was a last minute add for me as the gig I was going to see was cancelled. Not know anything about any of the bands but the opening band Eva Plays Dead. So walking into a sold out Audio I was there with an open mind. When Eva Plays Dead  started their set […]

Sertraline @ Bananaman’s Bar, Edinburgh

Heading to Bananamn’s one of my favourite venues in Edinburgh, I was excited to see Sertraline with their new line up. Up first was Glasgow’s Splinting Halo. I have been trying to see these guys for a while but, had always missed them.  They have great heavy drums along with great heavy guitar riffs. But […]

These Minds & Catch Fire Co-Headliner, Garage Attic, Glasgow

Heading to the familiar Garage Attic venue, I was taken back by how much it had been refurbished. It was now what I would call a good looking small venue. The booths are gone, the stage is raised, the annoying window behind the stage was covered and there was a curtain splitting the side stage […]

JPNSGRLS – Nice N Sleazy, Glasgow

Starting the night were Sunny Devils. They provide a stripped back sound with great vocals, even if he was not really pushing his voice (either that or he was just that good). The drums are too soft at times but due to stripped back sound, you can’t have metal drum thrashes. Simple but elegant guitar […]
