Justin Courtney Pierre ‘Ghost World’ EP review

Justin Courtney Pierre has been incredibly busy this year. New EP Ghost World is his third of 2021, boasting five new tracks for a hungry audience.

Album Review: Gold Key – Panic Machine

Hertfordshire quartet, Gold Key have released 'Panic Machine' their follow up to 2017 debut “Hello, Phantom”. Panic Machine was recorded off grid in isolation at Gwynedd in North Wales. The crew created in the summer of 2016 by vocalist Steve Sears and Laurent Barnard two old school friends, Sears also produced two of Barnards, Gallows records. Both decided to make Gold Key adding James Leach on bass of Sikth and Milk Teeth’s Jack Kenny on drums.

Violent Soho – Everything Is A OK

You may have noticed a pandemic risen its brutal head around the world, so for many of our mental health music helps, it keeps us together with a bit of humour through these mad emotional times. Aussie band Violent Soho have done exactly that with the latest record, affectionately named “Everything is A-OK”. Like many of us stuck at home, this is the time new music make help keep us sane.

The Jacques – Born Sore

How long has January been? Feels longer than 31 days, so, calm those nerves and ready yourself for February, as we here at Alt-Corner have been passed the new EP Born Sore by Bristol/London fellows, The Jacques and it’s out NOW.

Alter Bridge – ‘Walk The Sky’ album review

Alter Bridge have established themselves in recent years as one of the most formiddable forces in rock. With frontman Myles Kennedy's soaring vocals that even landed him as vocalist for Slash, coupled with grungy and intricate guitars, there's a certain something Alter Bridge have got that other bands lack. The big question is, have they carried it on only new album 'Walk The Sky', which follows my own personal favourite AB full length 'The Last Hero'

Gender Roles – Prang

In 2018, the month of September, day 28th  approximately 6pm, upstairs at the Paper Dress Vintage in Hackney, Mare street, I witnessed a three piece band from Brighton called Gender Roles, these musicians consist of drummer Jordan Lilford, guitarist/vocalist Tom Bennett and bassist Jared Tomkins who all met/formed in 2015 at Jordan’s Brighton Pride party. In this thirty-minute set, they aided my tinnitus and enabled the love of music. A year later these punk/garage rockers release their debut record PRANG, it’s here in my grasps and is ready for release on August 30th via Big Scary Monsters. Recorded with producer Ian Sadler at Emeline Studios in Kent over ten days.
