Valleys Soundfest 2016

Valleys Soundfest is an alternative music festival that is held by students on the Music Technology course at Coleg Y Cymoedd. Each year the festival benefits a chosen charity, the past couple of years it has been the charity Love Hope Strength Foundation UK. The festival showcases up and coming artists, both locally and nationally as well as college bands.

Japanese metal sensations Babymetal have been announced to play Download festival. This marks the second time the band have played the festival, following last year's surprise appearance alongside Dragonforce for an insane rendition of Gimme Chocolate.

Kerrang Awards nominations announced

At a laid-back pre-party featuring performances from Muncie Girls, Heck and Creeper, Kerrang! announced the nominations for this years Kerrang! Awards via a live seance. The awards ceremony will take place at London's Troxy on June 9 and for the first year, will feature live music from Asking Alexandra and more to be announced.
