London based five piece Hunter Kill Hunter release their second and aptly named EP, II, on December 2nd. The record starts with a short intro that flows flawlessly into opener Too Much To Take. Throughout the track we hear the bands two vocalists sharing duties and playing off of each other as they continue to on the rest of the EP. At times the harsher vocals are almost reminiscent of Enter Shikari, conveying emotion and drifting between clean and unclean sounds perfectly. The vocals really are one of my favourite parts of the EP, conveying emotion and delivering the lyrics extremely well.

The Instrumentation across the record is also great. The Hunted showcases the ability of the guitarists well with massive riffs flowing into atmospheric sections. Across the EP the guitars sound great, feeling polished while retaining an edge. Not only do they sound great but the parts they play are inventive and fresh with riffs which help to carve out the bands own style. The rhythm section deserve all the praise they get, for laying down the foundations of each song. The drum sound on this record stands up strong even when left exposed on They’ve Traded Us For Gold. The instrumentation in general is played and produced well.

The songs on this EP are very well written and all unique in their own ways with the band never falling back on old ground. Electronic elements sit like tastefully added sprinkles scattered about the EP, they add a little touch to give certain moments an extra push or to help set the mood. The record flows from big to small, fast to slow, loud to quiet and more with ease. The lyrics all feel meaningful and are presented in an emotive way by the bands singers. All this combines to create an infectious record that has kept me coming back to it and will surely do the same for you dear reader.

I'm Nathan, I'm based in South East England and I'm a huge music fan. When I'm not making music of my own I'm listening to a wide variety of music from Pop to Rock to Metal and beyond. My top three bands would have to be the Smashing Pumpkins, Placebo and My Chemical Romance although there are so many other great bands but so little time to list them!
