Emo GENRE ARCHIVES

Finding Kate – If I Fall

The brainchild of Kate Pavli, Finding Kate is the culmination of hard hitting drums, layered guitar riffs and emotive and alluring vocals. This November sees the band release their debut album, If I Fall, the follow up to the highly praised EP Inside Out.

My Only – This Room & You

Emo has been brought back to the forefront of alternative music with the likes of Moose Blood capturing the hearts of everyone they come into contact with. This has paved the way for a new wave of emo bands including Norfolk/Cambridge emo-punks My Only, who release their debut EP This Room & You on September 2.

Feed Them To The Forest take on the A-Z Questionaire

Feed Them To The Forest are a rock band from the North of England. Blending the emotionally charged sound of the late '90s Long Island punk rock scene with a distinctly British twist, FTTTF bring the genre up to date with an intense and energetic live show, laced with hooks, harmonies and anthemic melodies. Landmarks – In Spite Of It All | Story Behind The Artwork

"We approached him with the idea of a tranquil lake with someone looking out over it. He was brilliant with his water colour paint work, so we asked if he could keep the colouring simple and apply that affect. The use of a canoe came about when we saw a photograph whilst on tour last year and from that moment we had the cover image made up in our minds. We gave him the idea's and colour scheme we wanted to work with and from then on he went away and did his thing".

Fossil Youth Announce New LP!

After battling the unattainable with the 2015 EP Intertwined With You, Fossil Youth are back and at it again with their new full length A Glimpse Of Self Joy. AGOSJ not only works well as individual songs but, also tells one cohesive story that takes you on a journey from the opening chords of the contagious sing along Watercolor Daydream to the final ring out of the epic closer Linger In My Head, where singer/guitarist Scottie Noonan laments over and over again, “You don’t need me at all.”

Faux – Inhale EP

Kicking the EP off is the electrifying “Inhale” before kicking into the ever so catchy “Nerves”. Then there is the more brit-pop feelings of “Call” before it dives into the more emo dwellings of “You know”. The EP finishes with the pop punk musings of lead single “Swimmingly”.

A chat with Lee from Faux

Area 11, Mash House, Edinburgh

Taking myself on a day trip to Edinburgh I was excited to see Area 11 and their new songs live but, was a little disappointed to see the show be only a two band bill.

Sad Blood visit the Heavy Petting Zoo!

Sad Blood didn't have the most easiest of starts (for instance, it took guitarist George Phillips 22 attempts to recruit drummer Daniel Goldberg and bassist Krys Bascombe!)
