Finding Kate – If I Fall

The brainchild of Kate Pavli, Finding Kate is the culmination of hard hitting drums, layered guitar riffs and emotive and alluring vocals. This November sees the band release their debut album, If I Fall, the follow up to the highly praised EP Inside Out.

Having already built up a fan base in native Cyprus and a cult following in the UK the band are ready to hit harder and dig deeper with their music and If I Fall certainly does the job. It’s an album full of punchy rock melodies, a lot of feelings and a good measure of sass.

Opener Drowning really sets the tone for the album. It draws you in with its slow build both vocally and musically and there is a slightly dark edge to it. Following track White Lies has an old school Avril Lavigne and the heavier side of Kelly Clarkson feel to it, which may not entirely be a bad thing.

As the album progresses a whole range of emotions and feelings are exposed. Lyrically the album feels incredibly personal and the passion that has gone into it is conveyed through the pain and anguish in Kate’s vocals. Tracks including Don’t Let Go and I’ll Save You particularly highlight this.

It’s Over and If You Fall are the real standout tracks here. There is something a little Evanescence -esque to them and they really encompass the album as a whole. That emotion that hits deep and each listener can interpret and apply to themselves comes across stronger than ever in these two tracks.

If I Fall is a solid debut album. Though with room to develop the band have produced something to be proud of. In terms of a solid rock album they cannot be faulted.

Finding Kate are set to hit the road in the UK very soon. The live show is sure to be just as jam packed with guitar riffs and feelings.

If I Fall is out this November.
