Faux are set to release their second EP “Inhale” on 5th August. I managed to grab a few words with the band’s vocalist/guitarist, Lee.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
Jimmy Eat World, Sapndau Ballet, Brand New, Michael Jackson, The Hives, This town needs guns, Foals, Bombay bicycle club, Billy Talent, Toto are a few but we are all pretty eclectic when it comes to music.
How did you guys meet and what made you decide to create the band?
I met Luke (bassist) through the gigging circuit / friend a few years before we started Faux and then when I had the idea for this project our producer Neil Kennedy suggested Luke, we then got chatting and thinking of drummers and James had filled in for Lukes old band before so we asked him and then got together for a jam! Daly on the other hand got told he was joining the band, he really didn’t have much choice.
If you weren’t in a band, what would you be doing instead?
I think we would all be premier league superstars to be honest.
if you could tour with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?
I mean preferably it would be someone alive as touring with a dead person would just be creepy? In all seriousness it would probably have to be Foals or Jimmy Eat World
Speaking of touring, can we expect a full Faux tour in the future?
That is being worked on yes indeed but as for the immediate future we have Our EP release show in Southampton on August 19th at The Joiners, Fort Fest in September and WTFest in October again at our home ground the joiners, Southampton.
How would you describe your EP?
Pop-rock with twiddly guitars and emo choruses!
What are your plans for the rest of the year?
Catch ’em al!!!
