When I think of post-hardcore, I don’t think of calm, hip-hop style vocals but that’s the feel you get in the opening verse of Stay Inside’s new EP The Sea Engulfs Us And The Lights Go Out’s first single Advice Of A Caterpillar. As it heads into the chorus, the post-hardcore comes through and it is a track that has a lot going on in. Reconstruction’s riffs are catchy and Fever And Jealousy and Your Guardsmen Swarm Like Locusts are the stand-out tracks on the record.
The entire EP is full of emotion and covers topics including racism, the death of a partner, discrimination, paranoia and infidelity and is one that will hit home for a lot of it’s listeners!
