SAOSIN – ALONG THE SHADOW

There’s not much else to say about this album except that well, it’s simply awesome. And if post-hardcore is your thing, then you may just agree.

Saosin now have a new album entitled Along The Shadows.

The first track is The Silver String. It’s loud, crashing, and just what you’d except from post-hardcore and The Silver String does not fail to deliver that. Also, if you’re a fan of Sleeping With Sirens, you’d probably like this track too. I say this because I find that Anthony Green’s voice is similar to Kellin Quinn’s. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing though, and The Silver String is still an excellent track nonetheless. I’m just saying that those who aren’t familiar with Saosin may mistake the track as Sleeping With Sirens. But, I digress. Anthony Green clearly has amazing vocals in this track, both clean and screaming, and the rest of the band play this track very well too. I especially enjoy the chorus.

Ideology is Theft is the next track. What I like most is that the track has a fairly slow pace when the vocals begin. However, about forty seconds in and the tune suddenly speeds up a bit and changes when the screaming comes in, before getting into the chorus. It’ll make more sense once you hear the track itself, and it works well. It’s abrupt, but it still flows with the rest of the track. No complaining here.

The third track is Racing Toward A Red Light. The verses tend to have a mix of both clean vocals and screaming. For example, one line clean and one line screaming. There’s not much else to say about this track except that well, it’s simply awesome. And if post-hardcore is your thing, then you may just agree.
