The dynamic trio Ritual King are a three piece blues/ stoner rock band from Manchester. After putting their blood, sweat and tears into shows and intense writing where they put all their passion and work into creating a EP of tasteful blues riffs and funky rhythms. From this the EP Elixir was created. Originally the band was called Renegade and Respect but after trying a different approach and going through a transition the trio decided to change their name into something that shows how much effort and work the band has put into their careers hence the name Ritual King is born.
First off on the EP is the song Devils Chokehold and right away you get hit with infectious funky groves with the tasteful guitar riffs that are so ear pleasing, nice groove from the drums and catchy clean vocals and because of all these great qualities, this shows it is a great starter track to entice the listener to listen to the rest of this great record. This track clearly shows how at one the band is with their instruments making this my favourite track on this record.
The next song that stood out for me the most has to be the cracker of a track Unorthodox Satisfaction which has the influence of folk rock music running through this track veins and heart. There is a nice build up before the first verse and it generally has a great mix of acoustic tones and electric tones together and together its lyrically pleasing and has a good folk vibe to the whole track.
To sum it up this EP is one hell of a killer record after hearing the many strong influences in this track and hearing how much effort work and time the trio has put into this EP and how well the tracks work together and how well the sound is created this is one hell of a amazing debut EP to kick of a big start for Ritual King .
