If you’re in the mood to listen to an emotionally open, alternative concept album then THE LIGHTHOUSE might just be for you.
Written by Wolves released brand-new album THE LIGHTHOUSE last month. An album with a range of sounds, smooth transitions and, of course, a dramatic flair. It’s an album that picks up where their 2019 debut album Secrets picks up and tackles the uncomfortable emotions that you don’t want to talk about. THE LIGHTHOUSE represents the comfort of home, be-it person or place.
At the point of writing this, GODDESS seems to be the fan favourite. I can agree, it’s a very strong track. It’s romantic, but it’s not soft and cheesy but almost like a plead for attention.
Slightly softer songs I’ve enjoyed, that seem to hold your hand are THE LIGHTHOUSE, and PLEASE, JUST BREATHE. These songs do well to portray a feeling of “we’re in this together, I’m here for you” – which I always love, especially in music. More high-speed bops on the album are GIVE ‘EM HELL and MISERY. They’re fast, they’re dramatic and fun, but still meaningful with the lyrics.
I enjoyed it all, from start to finish! I do love hand-holding tracks, and I especially love a good, dramatic concept album. THE LIGHTHOUSE is very much my cup of tea, and I look forward to hearing more of what Written by Wolves have to offer.
THE LIGHTHOUSE is out now to see if you feel the same way!
