REVIEW: Vower – Apricity

Vicki Evans had a listen to Vower’s debut EP Apricity!

Apricity is a melodic, yet heavy, four-track treat that fuses together different alternative genres, released last month by brand-new band Vower.

All four songs of Apricity are strong, well-written songs. What I particularly enjoy about the EP is there’s a good mixture of heaviness and screaming, and then more melodic storytelling. The strongest, I found, was Eyes of a Nihilist. However, once again, when I look at listens on Spotify, I find that my preference seems to contradict the fans’ taste. The most streamed, as I write this, is Shroud. Eyes of a Nihilist is currently the least streamed.

That’s one of the good things about music, we all have different tastes.

Though I’m sure we could all agree that, especially for a debut EP, Apricity is so good. Of course it’s short, but it’s still a no-skip EP. I’m looking forward to hearing what Vower have to release next and would be interested to see how the songs sound live. They do have a couple of festivals lined up: ArcTanGent Festival in August, and Euroblast Festival in October.

Apricity is out now!
