UK 4 piece LIFETIGHT have just released a banger (literally) on Crooked Noise Records which any Hardcore fan would be proud of.
Opening with Energy is precisely what is done here, as a fuelled vocalist races through a pacey hardcore tone in his voice, a heavy and upbeat drum pattern and a low ending gritty riff while on the 4th beat a sharp guitar key squeals during the verses like a southern-hardcore rock feel. As far as this song goes there is no room for rested legs, as a classic case of two-stepping and arm swinging really fits with the track, along with the imagination of chaotic sweaty crowd surfers. The mood doesn’t fall any shorter as Misguided is a fit raising, head banging anthem really elevating a power within going through the notions of heavy elements, even during the stripped down part of the track you are left realising you are furiously headbanging to only drums and an aggressive vocal track.
Big Boy House wastes no time in providing a catchy pull-off riff that gives a great resemblance to Beartooth which then makes you realize how captivating these guys could be live and would prove the most logical choice for a support to the heavyweight titans, they provide all the aggression and impactful sounds you’d expect from the heavier category of Beartooth tracks. Closing the curtains with a bang on Dreams the opening guitar riff is catchy in all its distorted glory finding the beauty in hardcore musics more rhythmic arrangements and structures. Sometimes the sounds are not so clear and all instruments become one mass wall of sound, but LIFETIGHT have put themselves in the line of artists who have the talent to make a wall of sound catchy and edgy in creating masterpieces that heavier genres should take lessons from.
I can confidently say LIFETIGHT have provided the best UK Hardcore release I’ve heard in some time, so don’t sit around waiting for them to get bigger, support these guys and grab their 4 track EP SELF-TIGHTLED. Catchy tightle right?
