Itoldyouiwouldeatyou have made quite the name for themselves recently gaining great reputation, as they release ‘Get Terrified EP’, a collection of unreleased physical singles along-side new material, telling a story of their progression as a band and how they have developed on their unique sound.
The Lo-fi indie / emo 7-piece express lyrics with raw emotion in every word sung that will take you back to those teenage years where everyone had a little pain and anger deep inside themselves. You can see the growth within the songs whilst addressing many issues within the world of hypocrisy and stereotyping. With a blend of technical and melodic guitar riffs it creates an edgy take on what we once turned to as emo, but don’t let that dictate the fact that these guys have hit the nail on the head with what can be considered as not only a revival but a progression from what was once a huge scene. Closing the 4 track EP with a spacey feel leaves not much for the listeners to go by from the release, acting more of a interlude to nothingness which as part of a full album release it would have a thumbs up, but with a release of 4 tracks to showcase this project ITYIWEY should have settled at the first 3 songs.
