Four Year Strong have returned with a brand new album, Some of You Will Like This, Some of You Won’t. A rather honest title, but we’re pretty sure a lot of you will like this one, whether you’re new to the band or not.
The album begins with an acoustic version of It Must Really Suck To Be Four Year Strong Right Now. What’s awesome about this track is while the original is somewhat of a pop punk anthem, the acoustic takes it into a different tone. While the original was catchy and fun, this version is slower, calmer and sets for more of a deep/serious mood to the song. The song works both ways, and the band have done a fantastic job in making an acoustic version.
As well as acoustic renditions, there’s also a brand new track, Nice to Know, which is also available on YouTube if you want to check it out. This track is a nice, positive song about not being alone in difficult times and while things may be hard now, there’s always somewhere to go to. It’s a nice song for the fans who may be going through bad situations too.
Another new track coming up is Let Me Down Again. This track, as seen as the title, is about being let down over and over. We’ve all been there. The most notable part of this track are the lines “Sinking like a stone, down, down to the bottom of the river. What I wouldn’t give to start over again” and “Do what you gotta do, and let me down again”. Certainly a different kind of track compared to Nice to Know, but we all have to angst sometimes.
And finally, there’s my favourite song ever from Four Year Strong, Stuck In The Middle. Once again, it works so well as an acoustic rendition, with brilliant use of the acoustic guitar and harmony of the vocals. Such an awesome version of an already great song.
With excellent acoustic renditions of past songs as well as new tracks, Some of You Will Like This, Some of You Won’t is definitely something to look out for. Most of you will like it, I’m sure.
