Peace In Chaos is the newest EP from The Final Clause of Tacitus, due to be released on February 24th. It has a cool title, cool cover art, all that’s left is the music.
The first track is 7 Years. Right away, this catchy track will get your head nodding. That, and it has a beat that’ll get you jumping during a gig. It’s style is similar to Rage Against The Machine, though of course, not an exact copy. Oh, and they’re not lying when they say they’ve got the funk either.
Next up we have Give Them Blood. Unlike the last track, this one takes a more angry and melancholic turn. It starts out slow and a little sombre, but jumps into a more aggressive mood once the chorus hits. I’m reminded of Rage Against The Machine again when I hear the chorus. Specifically, Killing In The Name. The lines “And now you’re gonna give ’em blood, kid” has a little similarity to “And now you do what they told ya”. Again, I’m not saying it’s a flat-out copy in any way. It’s still an awesome track in it’s own way.
Next up is Snake Town (sounds horrendous, but only because I hate snakes). Throughout the track’s verses there’s some funky bass chords, guitar shredding and some pretty good rapping lines. That, I absolutely loved the chorus and bridge. A snake town sounds horrible, but the song certainly isn’t.
Lastly, we have Hidden Patterns. It’s a nice ending to this EP with the lines “We found peace peace in chaos”. It’s always good to end on a high note.
Overall, Peace In Chaos was funky, catchy and energetic, and it hit all those marks remarkably well. You just can’t help but nod your head or tap your hands against something when you hear it. I imagine seeing them live would be even better.
