Bristol’s post-hardcore quartet Everyday Sidekicks are back with their new EP Hope. The record is set for release on March 31st and they bring the heavy. The EP is a major progression from it’s predecessor and a pretty darn good one too!
Opening track Glass House is angsty and has an interesting melody. The vocals are hoarse but it works well. Bury Your Friends (well that’s nice…) has a more acoustic opening and seems to flick between melodic and angsty until the verse kicks in when it’s full of aggression and in your face. The melodic vocals are huge. There is just under 2 minutes of melodic instrumentation in Lacuna before closing track Business Secrets Of The Pharoahs kicks in with a great opening riff.
The whole EP is angsty and contains in your face screams, great riffs and consistent drum beats. If you’re feeling down and in need for something heavy to cheer you up, or just fancy starting a one man pit in your room, this is an EP that is definitely worth considering putting on!
