Melodic hardcore quintet Create To Inspire recently released their debut full-length album Sickness on 26th May 2017 via Basick Records. The band consist of vocalist Sean Midson, guitarists Connor McLeod and Jack Morris, bassist Dan Fuller and Drummer Luke Taylor. This Essex based band have been very successful and its nice to see their debut.
First up is Agony, the track opens with a light melodic instrumental . Then the drums and guitars kick in. Sean’s vocals are light and melodic in the first verse with some calm, impressive backing vocals. The vocals and melody taker a grittier turn as the heavier vocals which seem to be gritty. I really like the contrast and blend between the heavy and clean vocals. “I can feel the agony ripping me apart from the inside out”. I quite like the lyrics in the heavy vocals “make it somehow I hope we make it somehow..”.
Next up is, Sinking. I like the opening of this track because I like the combination of the drum beats and guitar riffs. The heavy vocals are impressive and again this song has a mix of clean and heavy vocals. This track is one you can definitely head bang too. The chorus is very melodic and catchy with some heavy vocals too.

Title track Sickness is next up, the opening is full of those familiar ruthless screams. As it goes on, the vocals are melodic again. The guitar riffs during the heavy vocals are pleasant to the ear, which I find interesting with the contrast between the light guitar riffs and gritty vocals. The drums keep at a consistent beat, I really like the drums in this track! “I’ll find a way to kill this suffering to kill this sickness in me”. I really like this song and I think its safe to say this is my favourite track on the album.
The last track I’d like to focus on is Adjust, it begins with some melodic guitar riffs and drums. This all changes when the vocals kick in. The lyrics in this track are very powerful and strong. I really like the lyrics in this track. “can you save me when I fall, can you save me from myself”.

Overall this album is full of pleasant vocals contrasts between the ruthless screams and catchy clean vocals. I really enjoyed the other tracks on this album too and I think that this is a beautifully written album, that I will definitely be listening to often! This band is definitely going places and you should definitely give this album a spin!
