Vitja is the Russian equivalent of Victor, which means winner and it seems like Vitja are on to a winner here! The German quartet are set to release album Digital Love on Friday March 3, 2017 and we got a chance to listen to it.

SCUM kicks the album off with a nice riff which continues in the background as the screams kick in. The different vocal styles work well together. D(e)ad has a bit of a haunting feel to the instrumentation while still keeping the riffs. There’s more clean vocals in this one. The track seems to be a call to a father.

Title track Digital Love is angry and heavy, with tight screams and crushing guitars. A good representation of the album. Six Six Sick continues with the angry feel and talks of the number of doom. Heavy Rain’s more atmospheric opening and calm, smooth vocals shows a different side to Vitja.

Overall, the album is good, but I have a feeling that it is one that needs to be blasted to be fully enjoyed (whereas, at the time of writing, I had to keep the volume down for the purpose of the fact most of my housemates are asleep and my headphones broke). I think the record will come across very well live and I look forward to hearing more from Vitja.
