To celebrate the 40th anniversary of seminal album A Farewell To Kings, Canadian rockers Rush have re-released an expanded edition of the record!
CD 1 opens with the title track and contains recordings of Xanadu, Closer To The Heart, Cinderella Man, Madrigal and Cygnus X-1, each track showcases the talent that made the band so popular when the record was first released back in 1977.
CD 2 contains seven tracks recorded live at Hammersmith Odeon, including the unforgettable Bastille Day. Hearing the live recordings gives you the feel of being there and appreciating the good old rock ‘n’ roll. The drum solo on CD 3 from Hammersmith Odeon is 6 minutes and 42 seconds of incredible rhythm and instrumentation which you can hear the crowd’s appreciation for.
Dream Theater, Big Wreck, The Trews and Alain Johannes also feature on CD 3 with their covers of tracks from the album. Dream Theater’s take on Xanadu is catchy and the vocals are stunning!
The idea of giving fans a new look expanded edition of such a brilliant record is fantastic as you get the originals, some never-before released live versions and some covers of the tracks by some incredible artists all in one package!
