Silo released debut album Haze on June 1 and it’s a good punk listen.
Opener Static Screen may be short but it kicks in immediately with some fantastic fills from the drummer.
Spin picks right up where Static Screen left off. It’s heavy, combines screams with some more melodic vocals for the hooks but never lets up.
Crawl in a Bottle slows things down and has a more melodic focus with the vocal delivery. The track focuses on going to therapy for the first time and you can hear the emotion and angst in the delivery.
Impostor confronts self-doubt in a really relatable way. It even captures the anger that some people feel towards themselves.
There are some good riffs throughout the album, including in Ill Intent, and the opening to Forget It, which also has a fab breakdown, as does Lucid.
Haze is a strong debut. It combines elements of punk, melodic hardcore and nu-metal for a well-rounded record.
