REVIEW – FLESH PLANET – // first flesh

Lizi had a listen to FLESH PLANET’s debut EP //first flesh!

FLESH PLANET released debut EP // first flesh on March 27. This is an interesting one for me as the band consists of most of the Allusondrugs/Allusinlove members and I really liked those guys, so excited to see what they’ve come up with.

The EP still has that Allusondrugs feel with the varied lyrical topics and interesting lyrics and the hazy sound, but it’s more mature and showcases a new era as FLESH PLANET.

I was intrigued by Computer Games & Rude Things but hooked musically by the rockier Big Machine with Conor’s (Fisher-Atack) funky drums and Damo’s (Hughes) distorted electronica vocals.

Evelyn is a nice and relaxing listen with a bit of that old-school grunge vibe, whilst Absorbed has a more punk vibe including some scream vocals before mixing in some heavy electronica elements, giving it a very 80s vibe.

It’s a nice and varied record that draws influence from all members of the band. I thoroughly enjoyed // first flesh!
