Austrian deathcorers Castiel released All Returns to Hollow and Silence on July 24.
The four-act EP combines guttural growls with technical heavy instrumentation and some slick guitar lines dotted throughout.
The drum fills on Act I Defile//Denounce are sick and constant. I love the synths too, they add a haunting and overlay to a low track.
I like the bass in Act III Vile Spirits.
I have to admit it was quite a bland record for me. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, but it just felt more like one massive song rather than four tracks, with not enough to keep me hooked.
There are some good guitar lines throughout, and I love the drum fills but I need a bit more variety when it comes to heavier records.
