Prog rockers Order Of Voices recently released their latest album Constancy. We had a listen to see what we thought!
Opening track Hand In Hand has a relaxing melody and powerful vocals. Long For Air has a cool opening riff which reappears throughout, smooth vocals and again a relaxing feel. Raise A Glass is an acoustic track and showcases the vocals well! While slightly hoarser, they still work well and at 5 minutes long, it’s a send you to sleep track, in a good way!
Jumping ahead a few tracks and we have Affirmation, another track over 5 minutes long and to be honest, this one didn’t really grab my attention, it just played in the background, in comparison to the previous tracks. Shatterproof brings in a different style of instrumentation at the beginning adding some variety, and has a bit of an Alter Bridge feel to it. Closing track Sever This is quite haunting with its melody and a good track to end on.
The album is a good album, the vocals are great and the instrumentation is good throughout, although at times it does seem a bit samey, it is a good record to put on if you want something to listen to but not go overly crazy while listening to.
