Dumbstruck Dumbf**k doesn’t waste any time in kicking off into their signature pop punk sound. It talks about a rocky relationship. It’s extremely catchy and reminds me of an old-school Blink-182 sound during the verses.
I love We Need More Bricks. It’s an angsty song about the state of the world and people reacting to it. It’s upbeat and fun and has a great chorus that will definitely be one screamed back in a live setting.
Heartbreak of the Century probably has the catchiest chorus on the album.
Take Me With You focuses on an impending alien invasion. Lyrically it’s really fun.
Closer Moody Weirdo is a great song too. It talks about not fighting change and taking one small step a day. It’s an anthem for people everywhere.
Ben Barlow said that the self-titled album – their fifth – is the band really knowing their sound and their ability and he is completely right. It’s everything you expect from Neck Deep but with a much tighter sound that comes only when a band is fully comfortable with their music.
Every song has an extremely catchy hook that will be an earworm, living rent free in your head for months.
