When most people think of Star Wars they think of sci-fi loving nerds, some light sabers or that video of a woman enjoying her Chewbacca mask a little too much. Turns out what we all should have been thinking all along was rock music. Galactic Empire are here with their self titled debut album to show everyone they are the band you’re looking for.

Most people are familiar with the Star Wars theme and those who are fans of the film series will be more than aware of The Imperial March and the ever so slightly annoying Cantina Band, but not in the style that Galactic Empire perform the tracks.

The album is full of well know instrumentals from the film brought to life in a metal style; full of heavy guitars and synth galore it is weirdly refreshing to hear these themes and compositions in this new light.

Across The Stars and Duel of the Fates are the tracks that stand out as the best in terms of pure rock instrumentals, but it’s impossible to not be drawn to The Imperial March as the highlight of the album. The dark side of the force would be even greater with some added guitar riffs.

However, that Cantina Song is mildly less irritating as a high energy metal track, but only just. Sorry guys.

Made up of Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper on guitar, alongside Boba Fett on drums, Galactic Empire are a fun metal band that fans of Star Wars are sure to appreciate.  Yet for those who may not know the music so well but can appreciate good quality instrumental rock, it is well worth getting on board with.

The band are set to tour later this month across the UK.
