Chicago alt-rockers 7 Minutes In Heaven are set to release their highly anticipated debut Rude Records release Symmetry on Friday! The record is the follow-up to 2015’s smash hit Side Effects, which landed them the number 1 spot on Billboard’s Alternative New Artists chart and #9 on the Heatseekers chart!

Opening track Better Off has a bit of a new-era All Time Low vibe with catchy instrumentation and strong vocals. Before the end of the first listen, it will have you singing along with the empowering “I know we’re better, I know we’re better off”. LOTL is again catchy and combines melodic tones with powerful vocals.

Title track Symmetry is up next and keeps up the catchy theme with energetic guitars but to me, it doesn’t grab me as much as the previous two. Whether this is because I’ve listened to it too many times already and the rest of the record is so new to me, I don’t know. It’s a very good track though! We take a bit of a calmer approach for Sweetest Sin which allows Timmy Rasmussen’s vocals to shine through. Cellar Door brings the pace back up before Wishing Well ends the record on a high!

This is a strong record from the alt-rockers. It’s clear to see the mix of influences throughout the record but is still fresh enough that it isn’t a carbon copy.
