The Burnt Tapes are a London based Greek punk rock band. Their latest EP Alterations is set for release on June 2 and follows 2016’s Besides.
The title track is just under 2 minutes of hoarse vocals that I’m not quite sure if I like or not, however, the track has a good beat and great lyrics, although it ends very suddenly before kicking into Oh Marie. Oh Marie is gritty. I think Things Get Weird is my favourite track on the EP, the vocals aren’t as hoarse and there’s a steady drum beat throughout.
The vocals are very hoarse throughout and I can’t say that I really like them, however instrumentally the EP is good and catchy.
