Young Guns, DEAD and Nothing But Thieves at The Garage, Glasgow

Gareth Rooke reviewed Young Guns, DEAD and Nothing But Thieves at The Garage, Glasgow!

The Garage
800 venue, with pint on the upper side of costs of £4 for fosters. Great sound and acoustic in there the light in there is good so no need for a flash when taking photos. The have a policy of searching everyone on entry which I don’t have a problem with but, I always get search twice on my way in here which I do have a problem with.

Dead
Rock indie band. A guitar sound I can’t but help like. I loved the way they interacted with the crowd. The way they made me feel like they where here to play for me. Always good to see a band like this there sound is worth the ticket price alone.

Nothing But Thieves
Rock band. Like muse but remove the electric and add more rock. They have a drum beat that hit you in bones and make you want to tap your feet and bob your head back and forth till you break your neck. There sound had me closing my eyes and bobbing along to the beat.

Young Guns
Rock, sweet rock music. These guys are what I would call a proper rock band. There energy on stage was electric. They killed it tonight. First time in a while I’ve been in a crush and not been able to dance, jump or even get my hand up. These guys will hit you with drums that will make your heart beat, guitars that will make you want to jump and vocal that you can not help but sing along too.

Hi I'm Gareth, A foolish Welshman that has found himself living in Scotland. I adore live music and this all started back in University when a friend dragged me along to my first gig and I saw Travis. From then on I spent a lot of time going to see bands from rubbish uni bands that had formed one drunken night to the mighty Blur. When I finished uni there was a 10 year gap between gigs (long story). Now though, on any given day of the week I can be found in the venues of Glasgow. With regards to my music taste I love anything with great lyrics and heavy drums. When I was younger (and still am) I was obsessed with a band called Alisha's Attic.
When not at a gig I will be found at my computer playing games like Prison Architect, Hearthstone and Wolfenstein.
