The Wombats put on a sensational show at Alexandra Palace on Tuesday (27th March 2018). The band made an electrifying entrance with Cheetah Tongue before moving into Give Me A Try. 1996 was very chaotic, with a large portion of the crowd near the front collapsing but lead singer Matthew Murphy made sure everyone was okay before restarting the song after everyone had recovered. Lemon To A Knife Fight was a crowd favourite, the entirety of Alexandra Palace dancing, from the front to the back everyone was going crazy.

The Wombats performance was colourful, bubbly and uplifting throughout the set with bassist Tord Knudsen’s enthusiastic performance bouncing around the stage like a maniac and having an inconceivable amount of energy. Let’s Dance to Joy Division was a weird one, the band were joined on stage by a group of people in bear costumes, but it reflected the quirkiness of The Wombats well. This also coincided with the impressive visuals behind the band throughout the set complimenting the music in a very interesting way.

The night concluded with an impressive encore of Turn, Tokyo and Greek Tragedy concluding the night in a euphoric way.
