Its not often you come across a band you instantly want on your favorites play-list, but these guys in The Shimmer Band are brilliant. I’m already a huge fan of this band, they truly epitomise Rock n Roll in its most raw and pure form. I often try and make a comparison but I really believe these to be quite unique mixing 90s Brit-Pop and Jack White-esque riffs which results in a great Rock n Roll sound I’m sure your already dying to hear.

Their new single Jacknife and the DeathCall has landed and its truly great. Keeping pace with their previous records; Shoot Me (Baby), Freedom and Sunkick. And you know what they have fucking blown it out the water with a massive shotgun. I have probably listened to the track 50 times today, not just for this review but because its an awesome tune and their most accomplished record to date and I’m sure that’s something they are immensely proud of. Its similar to some Kasabian songs in regards that it incorporates some EDM and starts with a low organ thenincreases in tempo like something reminiscent of some old-school Prodigy. It has an electric energy throughout with a great drop in there which I’m sure the band and fans alike cant wait for live. Tom’s unique voice punches the lyrics straight to your heart and you feel completely immersed in the song from start to finish. It has a pumping bass and put together with finesse. It is now my favorite song of theirs and I will be adding this to my ‘Pre night out play-list’. I just cant wait to see what the future holds for this young, enigmatic and unique band and look forward to another new song, I’m sure I’m not the only one, so go check them out I promise you wont regret it!
