Theatrical post-hardcore rockers Saint[the]Sinner release new EP Masquerades on October 31st. The EP provides the unusual contrasting post-hardcore and pop-rock however the two fit together to create a unique and exhilarating record! The tracks follow on well from each other and fit together, showing how much thought has been put into the record to make it a successful release.
A haunting opening before straight into an heavy and mesmerising track, which returns to the haunting melody during the instrumental towards the end of the track, Theatre Of Dreams provides a spellbinding opening that sets the tone for the rest of the EP.
First Blood continues where Theatre of Dreams left off and showcases Lukey Juan’s scream vocals very well!
Left For Dead is a very hard pop rock track with an awesome tune and guitar solo reminiscent of early Bullet For My Valentine. A very good track that I can see being one of the favourites to come from this record.
She’s A Vampire is very Panic! At The Disco-esque and a brilliant track!
Penultimate track Set It Off opens with scream vocals and is one of the heaviest tracks on the release.
Closer Asylum provides a haunting end to the EP with inspiration seeming to have been taken from pre-2010 era Fall Out Boy in a track that has a great riff and will get any listener up moshing.
The combination of Lukey’s scream vocals and James Laughton’s cleans provide a winning combination and fit perfectly with the haunting piano and effervescent riffs throughout the EP. The band have some very promising talent with some great vocalists and musicians.
Definitely worth a listen for fans of Bullet For My Valentine, My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco and Avenged Sevenfold.
