From in between the sheets of indie and electro comes Zac Farro’s new project Halfnoise. Distancing himself from his prior eyeliner-clad fame in Paramore, this eleven track record really could not get much more different than his previous outfit, to the point where it has a very chill-out feel about it.
Sandwiched between mellow synthesizers and a chilled out raspy drum beat, opening track ‘Know the Feeling’ gives a definite sense of lying on a beach watching the sun set with a cheeky cocktail or two. ‘Love Somebody’ continues the bright chilled out vibe of this album with its progressive vibes and vibrating bass. ‘In the Summer’ would be right at home in the game No Mans Sky, with it’s spacey guitars floating through the song. Title track ‘Sudden feeling’ is definitely channelling 90’s and 00’s pop music, the like of the Happy Monday’s and Inspiral Carpets are definitely comparable to this album.
This album goes to show that Brit pop may not be British but it definitely goes pop!
