Trauma PR hosted As Everything Unfolds’ single release show on Friday night. The evening was a showcase of up and coming British metal.

Opening the night were mathcore two piece Death Goals. The noisy duo showed great energy and a great stage presence considering the size of the crowd. Further to this the songs they showcased showed great potential. Following this were metalcore band Culling the Pantheon. The usual quintet were unfortunately missing their bassist tonight. This meant that they weren’t as tight as they typically are. That being said they didn’t let this faze them and followed on greatly from Death Goals.

Next up were Elasea, a more melodic band than the two they followed. The five piece were very tight in their performance and the songs they played showed potential. The final support band were Defences. The most accomplished of the support bands, Defences were incredibly tight live. That being said they could be accused of demanding too much from the small crowd. Their requests for the crowd to sing a long and sing back at them fell a bit flat, and were a slight dampener on a good live show.

Finally were headliners As Everything Unfolds. The metalcore band proved instantly why they were headlining tonight, as their sound more than filled the small venue. The show itself was a release show for their new single Centuries which stood out as the best moment of the set. Outside of their new single, the majority of songs were off of their Collide EP, with each song as well as the new songs fitting perfectly into the set list. The six piece did not look out of place on the stage and, if the new single is anything to go by, they are clearly destined to be playing bigger stages than the one they headlined tonight.
