Listening to Coast to Coast’s EP Dwell they instantly strike me as Lower Than Atlantis’ punkier cousin, with lashings of eye-liner. Opening with jerky melodic guitars their introduction sets the tone for the rest of the tracks, fading into static, it effortlessly glides into Bloom, with it’s upbeat guitars and inspirational lyrics it’s sure to get people moving when played live, and is definitely a feel good track.
Cornerstone develops on the old school emo feel, taking inspiration from bands such as You Me at Six, combining heartfelt lyrics with soaring vocals and raging guitars in the background providing a contrast which works beautifully. Falling into the last track of the album, acoustic and gentle Bunkbeds offers variety to the EP, following the previous full-on tracks offering a breath of fresh air with its gentle melody and sombre lyrics reflecting on their childhoods and how things have changed which is more than relatable. Finally the question is posed, would you do it all again? In this case I think Coast to Coast have set themselves up well for their next Album, so yes, I would indeed – do it all again (by listening to the EP)
