Fuel is the destination for tonight’s shenanigans as German metalcorers Annisokay return to the UK for the first time since 2015 and for their first UK headline tour!

Opening the show are Caerphilly based melodic band Mudlark, who had already started by the time I got into the gig. They had a good sound but there was not a lot of interaction with the crowd. Next up are Cardiff electro-punks Nightlives. This is a band that should have a great future ahead of them and do a mean cover of Rage Against The Machine‘s Know Your Enemy and don’t let technical difficulties with the mics get in the way. Ferinus are up next and the metal quintet put on a good show and have some awesome guitar work.

Main support Griever‘s atmospheric intro caught the crowd’s attention and despite the technical difficulties with the lighting, put on a great show, making me kick myself for not getting around to seeing them before now. Both vocalists combine well and there’s a strong drum/bass combination throughout.

Last but not least, Annisokay take to the stage, kicking off the set with sheer energy as they play through tracks from their latest release Devil May Care. There are cheers from the crowd as they mention the last time they came to Cardiff, in support of FVK in 2015, however the night was well and truly about them and they did not disappoint. The screams and cleans mix together well, even if at times it is hard to hear the cleans. A great cover of Michael Jackson‘s Beat It features in the set and they close off with Smile, a fan-favourite from their latest album!
