WEDNESDAY WISHING: More new songs to kickstart mid week

To get you through the midweek blues, we give you some of our favourite new singles.

Night Riots – Leave Us Alone

Night Riots have another alt-rock masterpiece on their hands with new single Leave Us Alone. The track is taken from their forthcoming album New State Of Mind (July 26, Sumerian Records).

Side Project – A Thousand Goodbyes

Pop-punk/rock genre crossers Side Project have unleashed their new single A Thousand Goodbyes to the world.

Lead guitarist Phil Robinson said: “A Thousand Goodbyes really saw us step out of our comfort zone, writing clever tempo changes and structuring the song in 2 contrasting halves, the end result was a raw, catchy effort with an epic feel to the end.”.

Finches Of Attica – Killswitch

Finches Of Attica have revealed their heavy-tinged alt-rock track Killswitch!

Speaking of the track, vocalist Tom said: “This song is very close to my heart as it was written in a dark but very real part of my mind. It’s very personal to me and I’m excited that others may relate and take from it what I did putting in.

“We spent a lot of time making sure this was a perfect mix of all of our influences and made sure that we made every last bit right to put forward the message. I couldn’t of asked for better guys to do this with and I’m glad that we’ve came to this conclusion in Killswitch.”

Guitarist/vocalist Bryce added: “I’ve been working up to this moment for all of my musical career. This is the best thing I can say I’ve ever done with the best group of people I’ve had the honour of working with. Not just as musicians but as friends.

“This track has taken a lot of time and effort and has paid off. I’m not only proud of myself, but proud of every effort each individual has put into making this track and I honestly can not wait for people to hear and enjoy it.”

Bassist Luke agreed: “I’ve been so excited to showcase this track to the world. It’s been an honour to be a part of this song and really express the emotion it drives.”

BONES UK – I’m Afraid Of Americans

Bones UK‘s latest single is a cover of David Bowie hit I’m Afraid of Americans. The track was originally done to honour the late idol for Howard Stern’s King of All Media compilation: The Howard Stern Tribute To David Bowie.

“We wanted to play with American stereotypes and go darker on them,” says singer/guitarist Rosie Bones of the video. “It’s like the seedy underbelly of the American dream.”

“We got asked to cover this song by Mr. Howard Stern and knew it was perfect on so many levels. Obviously lyrically relevant in the current political climate. Not all Americans are scary but ONE is f***ing terrifying!”
