London progressive pop punk band Small Pond Big Fish have dropped their kick ass new music video ‘Strange Thoughts Follow Shadows‘. The track is a fresh, upbeat pop punk statement featuring an infectious groove, bouncing synths and playful lyrics, something that Small Pond Big Fish has become renowned for. ‘Strange Thoughts Follow Shadows’ is a fitting introduction to their forthcoming Deluxe Edition of EP ‘Close My Eyes‘.

Small Pond Big Fish comment: ‘We’re super excited to release the video for Strange Thoughts Follow Shadows. This track has always been a stand out for us to play live and so the decision to make this a band performance video seemed an obvious one. For us, this song is about passion and has a relentless energy, we feel like we’ve really captured the essence of the song in this video. We can’t wait for everyone to see it!’

Formed back at secondary school by vocalist Iga Tchorz and guitarist Dhylon Shah, and with the arrival of new drummer Matt Kitto and bassist Anthony Greenwell in 2015, Small Pond Big Fish are preparing to release the deluxe edition of their debut EP ‘Close My Eyes’.

With members studying at university and others still completing their A levels, the band have a huge number of home town shows under their belt, along with a short UK tour and plenty of out of town weekenders. They are now looking forward to the Deluxe re-release of their EP ‘Close My Eyes‘, which will include an additional acoustic track and is scheduled for release on the 4th of March 2016.

Small Pond Big Fish aren’t ones to shy away from the flagship bands that helped shape their sound, drawing inspiration from other female lead bands like Paramore and The Pretty Reckless. However, the band look to introduce new, heavier sounds, drawing influences from acts such as Issues, A Day to Remember – even Periphery and early Muse.

The band will be touring more of the UK in 2016 and are excited to have the opportunity to visit new cities this time around. Small Pond Big Fish are also very active in the online pop-punk community and always look to spread awareness of a genre that is very much on the up at the moment.

Having been influenced by such charismatic and energetic bands, Small Pond Big Fish pride themselves on their live performances and look to channel the ideas of this genre and what it means both them and the audience. Expect their A Game come show time, with an inspired passion and energy that is always present.

Hi I'm Gareth, A foolish Welshman that has found himself living in Scotland. I adore live music and this all started back in University when a friend dragged me along to my first gig and I saw Travis. From then on I spent a lot of time going to see bands from rubbish uni bands that had formed one drunken night to the mighty Blur. When I finished uni there was a 10 year gap between gigs (long story). Now though, on any given day of the week I can be found in the venues of Glasgow. With regards to my music taste I love anything with great lyrics and heavy drums. When I was younger (and still am) I was obsessed with a band called Alisha's Attic.
When not at a gig I will be found at my computer playing games like Prison Architect, Hearthstone and Wolfenstein.
