As December Falls will release new album Join The Club next summer. An exact date has yet to be released but the news is welcome to fans!
Bethany Hunter said: “The album is a call to arms. We were so tired of the music industry being full of sharks and just the world in general at the moment. Everywhere you look, it’s just falling to shit. It’s about not sticking to the rules when you know there’s a better way. It’s middle finger up to old ways, that we can do this without that bullshit. That’s why we called it Join The Club.”

Dwen – Leoht Farm

Dwen will release debut record Leoht Farm on January 27!

Speaking on the music – which was created in a rural cottage, the duo said: “Making use of an old piano on site, a couple of guitars, fretless bass and a laptop, our only intention was to start fresh each day writing something new, jamming ideas out quickly and getting them down, to move on without over thinking anything, revisiting or too closely refining our ideas,” explain the band of the process.

“What we had at the end of a week was more material than we had ever finished before and a sense of wonder about how and what we had written. The tracks that make up this release are the handful we felt needed the least revisiting and are presented more or less as they were recorded, with small imperfections, the atmosphere of the room, and sounds of the surrounding nature buried in the takes.”

Softcult – See You in the Dark

Credit: Pearl Cook

Softcult will release new album See You in the Dark on March 24 through Easy Life Records!

“It is an analogy for the things we’re afraid to face. It represents confronting our innermost fears, usually in those vulnerable moments lying awake at night when our minds are racing. It’s sort of an acknowledgement of our darkness, and the darkness of others, like “hey, I see you”, Mercedes Sarn-Horn says of the album.

“While it’s important to acknowledge our darkness, we also can’t submit to it. We have to strive to be better people, and leave behind a legacy of positive change. I think it’s important to do everything we can to try and make a positive impact on the world, even when that feels impossible. Because if we don’t at least try, who will?”

These songs are hard and heavy without being technical just for the sake of it.”

“I am extremely proud of this record but making it wasn’t easy. I had to teach myself how to write on my own again, and knowing that it was all on me was pretty unnerving. But I feel like the pressure of the record and the frustration of being secluded due to the pandemic allowed me to create a vibe that I’ve wanted ACRES to explore for a long time, and I’m really stoked with the outcome.”
