New records to look out for: Teasers for September 13

Welcome to the New Records Round Up. We hope you enjoy this week’s teasers!

Happy Friday 13! This isn’t going to be unlucky for you as we bring you teasers for eight recently announced albums and EPs that we think you’ll love!

Texas Hippie Coalition – Gunsmoke

Texas Hippie Coalition will release new album Gunsmoke on October 4 through MNRK Heavy.

Vocalist Big Dad Rich said: “In terms of the lyrics, the vibe, and where THC come from, we definitely went home on this album.

“It represents the Wild West Texas-Oklahoma area. You’ve got a little red dirt country spilling over into the storytelling and metal. It’s a return to the dirt where we came from.”

Burn Down Eden – Epiphany

Burn Down Eden will release new EP, Epiphany, on December 6 through Seek and Strike.

The band said: “You can quickly tell that this EP starts a little bit brighter. Can’t be death and slaughter all the time! Its video to the song supplements the whole theme of just having fun and leaning into the good times.

“With the Epiphany EP, we pick up right where we left off with the Dismal EP released earlier this year. The technical and musical level is higher than ever. Epiphany has the same overall dark vibe as Dismal, but with a slightly brighter touch to it, which is why these specific five songs were chosen to be on this second EP. Together, the two EPs result in the desired full-length album.

Once Epiphany drops in full on Dec 6th, you’ll finally be able to listen to it as a full-length album, which was the way we originally envisioned. It feels like one thrilling flow from start to finish or you can listen to both EPs back to back. It doesn’t matter! In the end, what you’re having is a cauldron full of technical Death Metal riffs, neoclassical shredding, exotic scales, clever harmonies, groovy headbangers, lethal high-speed blasts and atmospheric counterpoint Black Metal layers garnished with lyrics that show the ugly face of humanity. That’s what BURN DOWN EDEN is all about!”

Mc Raaka Pee said: “I would say that Reset is like a bastard son or daughter of previous records – with tasty new spices added to the whole thing. It has everything you could ever want from us and more. One of the special twist of this album is the vocal parts: the fierce screams are counterbalanced by a huge melodiousness – often at the same time.”

RedHook – Mutation

Credit: Jack Fontes

RedHook will release their second album Mutation on November 22 through Adventure Cat Records.
Vocalist Emmy Mack said: “‘Mutation’ felt like the perfect name for this record because we wanted it to feel like an evolution in every single way, not just in RedHook‘s sound, but in the stories we’re telling and the messages behind them. We want to offer new perspectives, challenge old ways of thinking and just double-down on being unapologetically ourselves.
RedHook has always felt like a bit of a misfit. A lot of people don’t quite ‘get’ us. But we didn’t make this record for those people. We made it for the ones like us. The misfits, the outliers, the weirdos. We can’t wait for you to hear it.”
