Current Swell will release new EP Peacekeeper on July 11 through Blue Heron Music.
“We’ve spent the past few years getting together for a week at a time, casually letting ideas flow,” says Scott Stanton.
“We demo a bunch of stuff, explore our own production tastes, and really just have fun with it. That freedom has made its way into these new songs, and we’re really excited for our fans to hear what we’ve been working on.”
Häxan – Death of Me

Häxan will release new EP Death of Me on May 23.
The Welsh band released the title track and said: “It was one of the later songs we wrote for the EP, and we played around with lots of ideas for the melody in the verse as we wanted something quite rhythmic but still melodic and catchy. Once we had this melody, albeit with very different words, we all couldn’t stop singing it days, even weeks, later so we knew it was the one.
“This is the first new song Häxan fans will hear since our debut album release in 2020, so we hope they will see and love the band’s and our sound’s evolution. It’s still Häxan. Still big riffs, big choruses, but bolder, heavier, and bigger than ever.”
Tracklist:
Death of Me
Sirens
Thirteenth Hour
Burn Alive
Collide

Mother Mother – Nostalgia

Credit: Emily Bradshaw
Mother Mother will release 10th album Nostalgia on June 6 through Parlophone.
“In creating ‘Nostalgia,’ our goal was to embody a childlike creativity which often becomes elusive as we age and gather too many tricks,” said Ryan Guldemond.
“We evaluated every creative choice by its emotional impact—whether that was a lyric, a reverb trail or an EQ curve. If something didn’t evoke a strong emotional reaction—we let it go. This approach led to work we genuinely love and take pride in.”

Love to Death

Youth Code – Yours With Malice

Credit: Atiba Jefferson
Youth Code will release new record Yours With Malice on May 16 through Sumerian Records.
“I think a lot of people’s stories during the pandemic were about self-reflection, but the ironic thing is we were already in a state of reemergence and re-imagination of self before the rest of the world was forced to do it,” said: Ryan George.
“We took time and began to workshop and demo vocals on some of the material we had. We never stop writing and are sitting on a mountain of tracks that we can rework and tweak. Not having deadlines surrounding us and in no hurry to get our material out there, all of a sudden the partnership with Sumerian arrived. That sort of ignited a fire and got us to where we are now.”
Sara Taylor said: “I started exploring more melodic vocals on our record with King Yosef [the 2021 collab A Skeleton Key in the Doors of Depression], but I’ve always felt somewhat insecure in my voice… At the same time, Eartha Kitt had a gravelly voice and she was the epitome of a vocalist that ably captured attention – she understood the song and how to make the most of it with what she had.”
Sumerian’s vice president Julien O’Neill said: “YOUTH CODE have long been a commanding voice in both electronic and heavy music, and we are incredibly honoured to welcome them to Sumerian Records with the announcement of their latest release, ‘Yours, With Malice’. We believe this marks a powerful new chapter in their already illustrious career and are excited for what the future will bring for both new and longtime fans alike.”
Tracklist:

Poison The Preacher – Vs the World

Poison The Preacher will release debut album Vs the World on May 23 through Seek and Strike Records.
Vocalist/guitarist Juan Pablo said: “We are incredibly excited to be a part of the Seek and Strike family. We are proud to have the opportunity to work with these excellent professionals moving forward. We chose them because they showed a genuine interest in the band and were very like-minded individuals. We believe this is the next logical step in our career and we are sure we’ll make huge impact together.”
The band accompanied the announcement with lead single Sucker Punch.
The Colombians said: “We chose this track as the lead single because it encapsulates the core of our sound.
“It perfectly represents everything we’re about, fierce attitude, intense energy, and an evolving, mature songwriting approach.
“This album feels like a huge leap forward for us.
“It’s the culmination of everything we’ve done up to this point. Everything fell into place, and we’ve finally developed a sound that truly represents who we are. This is us, unapologetically.”
“This record has put us in a mindset of constant improvement, experimentation, and growth,” the band added.
“We don’t want to make the same song twice. Every track on Vs The World comes from a different place. There’s something for everyone here. Whether you’re into thrash, death metal, hardcore, or something in between, we’re bringing it all together in a fresh, unique way.
“We’re not just a thrash band with breakdowns. We’re a proud fusion of all the heavy music you love, with a perspective that challenges what you expect from a metal band.
“If you’re into thrash, death metal, hardcore, anything in the heavy music world, there’s a song here for you. And for our fans, you’re going to see us evolve and diversify even more. We’re not reinventing the wheel, but we’re definitely bringing something new to the table.”
