New Records to Look Out For: Teasers for May 2

Welcome to our New Records Round Up which gives you teasers of some of the recently announced albums and EPs!

In this week’s New Records Round Up, we bring you teasers for 10 recently announced albums and EPs.

We Lost The Sea – A Single Flower

We Lost The Sea will release new album A Single Flower on July 4.

The Australian post rockers said: “The world lay wrecked before us, a quiet ruin of things lost and things that never were. The mornings came like the grinding of old gears, a slow turning toward some unknowable purpose. And yet, in the stillness of despair, the nameless rose. Not for hope, nor for meaning, but because something in the marrow of our bones whispered that to rise was the only rebellion left.”

Fantazmaz – Fantazmaz

Fantazmaz will release their self-titled album on July 4 through Ghetto Bitch Records.

“The album is angry and frustrated, pretty much because we don’t see a future,” said Thami.

“Chances are slim that we’re getting out of this global mess, and honestly, we don’t care much about explaining why. It’s right there for everyone to see. That’s the sentiment — listen to the album.

“We recorded the whole thing in two days at Monolith Studio. It was straightforward and honest — first day for drums, second day for guitars, bass, and vocals. The songs had been written for a while, and we just thought, why the hell not drop a full album? So,we went in and laid it down, raw and real. This is our first full album, and we’re bloody excited for it to finally come out.”

Sodom – The Arsonist

Sodom will release new album The Arsonist on June 27.
The drums on the album were recorded using a 24-track analog tape machine.
Frontman Tom Angelripper said: “No plastic! The difference in sound compared to today’s standard drum productions is amazing and has had a positive effect on all the instruments. Naturally, time and effort as well as costs were also higher, but we’re happy to fork out for a superior result.
“Frank contributed those typical Sodom riffs and hooks again, whereas York favors more epic songwriting. As a perfect complement to both of them, Toni, who is also an excellent guitarist, contributed a number of songs and helped to make the album even more versatile.”

Lord Of The Lost will release new album OPVS NOIR vol.1 on August 8 through Napalm Records.

The album is the first 11-track release of three records, creating a magnum opus of 33 tracks in total.
Vocalist Chris Harms said: “Darkness, melancholy, loneliness – all words that often have negative connotations, that we may associate with danger, sadness and loss, and not without reason. But darkness can also be security, melancholy the warm and sentimental feeling of our memories, and loneliness becomes necessary silence, peace and inner contemplation. OPVS NOIR is a travel guide, or perhaps also a travelogue, through the dark sides of our inner world, which so often move precisely in the area of tension between what we emotionally categorize as positive or negative. And with Vol. 1, all of this is just the beginning of this 3-part journey…”

Nova Twins – Parasites & Butterflies

Nova Twins will release new album Parasites & Butterflies on August 29 through Marshall Records.
Amy Love and Georgia South said: “‘Parasites & Butterflies’ is about the bridge between chaos and beauty, embracing and accepting both sides.
“‘Supernova’ was about being superhuman in a time when we needed to be. With ‘Parasites & Butterflies’, we wanted to showcase something deeply human: how vulnerability can be as empowering as it is revealing in its honesty. By playing with opposites, light and shade, you can feel a contrast throughout the album. You’ll find songs that make you want to dance, cry, self-reflect, or even escape. Life is a constant balancing act, but the thrill of the unknown is what makes us feel truly alive.”
