Imperial Triumphant – Goldstar

Imperial Triumphant will release debut album Goldstar on March 21 through Century Media.

“As we recorded the final tracks, the experience felt like the universe was aligning,” the band observe.

“Colin, who is basically a fourth member of the band to us, held space for this transformative moment, offering his incredible artistry and expertise, which only deepened the connection we had to the music.

“The sound that we captured in that sacred space was the crystallization of everything we’ve worked for, and the memories of those sessions will resonate within us for years to come. Music exists as a force beyond the infinite.”

“Imperial Triumphant’s upcoming album is a journey that feels both timeless and otherworldly, and we are beyond excited to share it with the world in 2025. The music we’ve created feels like it was born from a deeper, unseen realm, and we’re truly in love with every part of it.

“Our new video for ‘Lexington Delirium’ is a perfect reflection of that energy, filmed atop the majestic Chrysler Building. We’ve all admired its art deco beauty for years, and standing on top of such an iconic structure, surrounded by the clouds of Midtown, felt like stepping into a different age—an age of ambition and grandeur. Working with Brendan McGowen was an absolute pleasure, as his vision and creativity are greatly appreciated.”

Katla – Scandinavian Pain

Credit: Nikolaj Bransholm

Danish doom metallers Katla will release debut album Scandinavian Pain on March 21 through Napalm Records.

The band said: “Scandinavian Pain is an album about the shame of feeling depressed in a country that in many ways seems to be out of any misery or control of others. The inherent feeling of guilt, the despondent thoughts. The weight of cultural Christianity and being part of a system that is destroying both ours and other lives.

“It’s about watching the newest season of whatever decadent TV show is on while children are being murdered daily. All the songs are different, yet similar. This time, there’s an affirmation for you, who might need it, a story telling, a short grindy track, something with a blast beat, but of course also heavy sludgy doom. Welcome to the house of pain.”

Within Destruction – Animetal

Within Destruction will release new album Animetal on April 11 through Sumerian Records.

The band said: “ANIMETAL is a culmination of all the stylistic experimentations that preceded it. These tracks are unapologetically authentic to the band’s identity.

“With each album released after the band’s deathcore era, we have gradually pushed the boundaries of electronics, clean hooks, and pop sensibility. Each song has a unique identity within the tracklist while retaining the band’s signature heavy-core sound.

“In previous albums, we experimented with melodic choruses, but with ANIMETAL, they have become a defining feature of our music. Every song has its own hook and appeal, and we hope it resonates deeply with listeners.

“Thematically, ANIMETAL explores a wide range of subjects, shifting between fictional, larger-than-life characters and situations, and motifs that are deeply relatable to everyday life. Heavily inspired by anime plots and protagonists, the lyrics often take on a first-person perspective, portraying the struggles these characters face. From the grim battles within one’s own mind to the delusions we sometimes find ourselves lost in, and the crushing weight of the external world, we aim to create a connection with listeners through the storytelling in these tracks.”

Breichiau Hir will release new album Y Dwylo Uwchben on April 11 through Halen Records.

“Halfway through writing the album, I noticed my lyrics were all following a narrative and theme around nostalgia,” says Dafydd on the record.

“It’s a journey that follows the narrator getting totally engrossed in that feeling and losing grasp of reality. The theme of a river as a metaphor for time runs through the album.”
