New Records to Look Out For: Teasers for December 6

Welcome to our New Records Round Up, bringing you teasers for recently announced albums!

In this week’s New Records Round Up, we bring you five recently announced albums and EPs.

The records come from artists across the alternative music world.

Oversize – Vital Signs

Oversize will release debut album Vital Signs on February 28, 2025, through SharpTone Records.

The alt-shoegaze band said: “It feels very surreal to finally be releasing our debut full-length. Pretty much since the start of the band we knew we wanted to be an ‘album band’. Even through we had released two EPs previously we’ve always had enough material written to make a full length, so we knew after the second EP it was time to make the jump.

“Recorded in under two weeks at The Ranch Production House, we closely collaborated with producer Lewis Johns to create something we’re really proud of.

It was always our aim to write an album where each song has its own identity yet still works holistically as an album, we were really conscious of the album not sounding to ‘samey’ yet the same time not feeling like a playlist of random songs. We’re still so honoured that SharpTone shares our passion and vision for the record and can’t wait for people to finally hear it.

Tracklist:

Are You With Me?

Avantasia – Here be Dragons

Avantasia will release new album Here be Dragons on February 28, 2025, through Napalm Records.

Avantasia is the brainchild of Tobias Sammet, who said: “This new album carries the most adventurous and bold spirit my music has had in decades. And it’s rather reckless, fearless, powerful, and uplifting and not introverted at all!

“While my previous albums allowed me to get a lot off my chest, this time I dove headfirst into the creative flood, crafting ten musical pictures that miraculously merged into what I believe is the tightest chapter in AVANTASIA’s history.

“I did everything exactly how I wanted it, approaching the album with unrelenting determination and a carefree attitude that was reminiscent of my early days way before the Metal Opera thing, when I felt unstoppable and just let instinct write songs! Right now I’m bursting with energy and can’t wait to unleash Here Be Dragons and then kick off the big tour with our new stage.

“We’ll present the new material alongside our classics and some rarities in the most spectacular stage show AVANTASIA has ever delivered. An early Merry Christmas, everyone!”
