Our New Records Round Up brings you 10 of the recently announced albums and EPs!
In this week’s New Records Round Up, we bring you teasers for 10 recently announced albums and EPs.
Them – Psychedelic Enigma
Them will release new album Psychedelic Enigma on October 24.
“Psychedelic Enigmanot only includes some of the rawest and most fast-paced tracks of our career to date, but also a number of sound experiments and technical masterpieces,” guitarist Markus Ullrich says.
He praises legendary sound engineer Randy Burns (Megadeth, Kreator, Possessed), saying: “Randy has given our new material that ultra-aggressive sound, and when an icon like him does that kind of thing, he of course has good reasons for it.”
The Wytches will release new album Talking Machine on October 10 through Alcopop! Records.
Vocalist/guitarist Kristin Bell said: “I’m especially excited to put this one out because it’s the first album since our debut where the whole thing was recorded live.
“During the time I was writing the songs for the album, I started listening to all these really trashy sounding bands from the 80’s like The Milkshakes, The Cannibals, The Prisoners, Screaming Blues Messiahs and so on. I particularly liked The Milkshakes for this 50’s/60’s revival thing where they were borrowing certain sounds from those era’s, where things got particularly heavy. Heavy in a different way, almost like an accident or a technical issue or something. Everything’s overly distorted and powerful. Even Cliff Richard’s first album is really heavy in places. We tried to go for that with the production, gritty and heavy but trying to avoid the modern way that you make an album sound big and hyped, which is usually something that’s added afterwards. We tried to nail that big sound together in the room. Recording everything live instantly made me love what we were doing.”

Unprocessed – Angel
Unprocessed will release new album Angel on October 31.
The band said: “This album is more than just a record by four boys from Germany – it’s a light shone upon the unknown, like memories from the afterlife. We explored the concept of “Angel” in various ways: becoming an angel through real-life actions, hearing angels serenade, a fallen angel telling his story and becoming the Antichrist, or seeing someone as an angel through glorification. This concept inspired both the music and the lyrics. While we’re leaning more into a polished metalcore sound, the record still maintains the essence of what makes Unprocessed unique.
“It features some of the craziest guitar, bass, and drum work we’ve ever showcased as a band. At the same time, we believe it’s more accessible to the broader metal and metalcore audience, with our strongest and catchiest hooks and melodies to date.”

Militarie Gun will release new album God Save the Gun on October 17 through Loma Vista Recordings.
Ian Shelton said: “I’m well aware that being this vulnerable turns my personal trauma into a marketing hook for this album.
“But I’m fine with it, if not provoking it. Over the past couple years, as I spoke about addiction from the perspective of someone affected by it, I became the one struggling with it. There’s a farcical logic to entering a situation, fully knowing the consequences, and doing it anyway – but that’s where my head was when I started leaning on drinking.”

Ventenner – Slow Dissolve
Ventenner will release new EP Slow Dissolve on October 31 through Athanor Records.
Frontman Charlie Dawe said:“A lot of my music over the years has centered around the idea of something ending and something new beginning. There’s always been a strong theme of death and rebirth in the approach. These were normally restricted to the lyrical themes and to a personal level, this time however it was more about the band as a whole and a concept.
“We had got to a good point by the end of the decade. Our 2017 album Invidia had been a success, so had the subsequent singles we released in its wake. It had opened doors to big shows and big tours, management, a publishing deal, tipped as the next big thing etc etc. After the lockdown, we had some key line up changes that didn’t end on good terms, and I spent the following years releasing Ventenner albums and EPs with fellow long time member Luke Jacobs. But the way things were, the industry was on pause still, and our momentum had stalled.
“The newly joined RomyBen-Hur and Ted Nieddu, both on guitars and backing vocals, came along for the trip and musically it was great. The tour was fun, the people who came said we were on our A game, but it was stressful and difficult and without the support of our agent (who had quit the business in covid) it wasn’t a success.
“Personally, my life was in a similar situation. Having made some difficult decisions to move on from people and things, done the therapy thing, I had no idea where I fit in to music any more, if Ventenner was still a thing or ever would be, generally an existential crisis and cataclysmic shift on every level.
“We had put out an album in 2024, Exit Manual, which was the most startlingly apt title I’ve ever come up with for what I and the band were going through at that point. For me it was probably a swan song and it was time to bow out, quietly and without applause.
“At some point, whether it was the newfound clarity and productivity, the letting go of negative elements, or just being away from everything and being ‘on the outside’ of the industry, something just sparked. I had a few things left over from the previous album sessions that didn’t fit, and some ideas I had from a side project called Last Sign which never really came into full bloom. So I started writing for Ventenner again, not because I thought I had to or I had something to prove like the last 10 or so years, but just because I wanted to. I had been writing a lot out here, both for solo work and soundtracks, and it was flowing easily. The long drawn out slow dissolve of the last 10 years was not the demise I had thought it was, rather just a very gradual reveal.”

Bloom – The Light We Chase
Bloom will release new album The Light We Chase on October 31 through Pure Noise Records.
“In many ways, the album is an oxymoron,”drummer Jack Van Vliet shares.
“You can’t catch light in your hands, and you can’t have darkness without the light casting its shadow. We all have an idea of something perfect. A memory, a vision of the future, a light at the end of the tunnel. The Light We Chase is that perfection. The sublime. The taste of something good. Our widest exploration of how far metalcore can be pushed and shaped, this album is lyrically diverse as it is instrumentally.”
