Ray Hawthorne – Ray Hawthorne Can’t Be Trusted

Ray Hawthorne is bringing his self-aware humour in new album Ray Hawthorne Can’t Be Trusted when it is released on October 15.
Hawthorne said: “If you or someone you know has been personally effected by the lyrics of Ray Hawthorne Can’t Be Trusted, don’t @ me. This is the first of my albums that was made intentionally. Prior to this I would release a lot of singles, see what people liked the best, then try to retroactively fit the top performers and some unreleased material into a functional album with coherent themes.
“NOT THIS TIME MOTHERFUCKERS. THIS IS 13 TRACKS OF UNADULTERATED RAGE MEANT TO RIP YOUR HEART OUT WITH NO REGARD FOR YOUR PERSONAL SAFETY. (I read that in the voice of a monster truck rally commercial by the way.)
“But on a serious note, it was fun getting together with Pete and really thinking through the album as a whole. How it should ebb and flow, where we should push heavier or pull back, things like that. So I hope that level of cohesion is more present than my previous albums when you listen through the record.”

The band said: “One thing we keep getting asked after shows is how we describe our sound, and we still don’t really have a perfect answer. It’s just…us. There’s thrash, hardcore, and groove all living in the same place, and that combination has become a much bigger part of who we are as a band.
“With this new material, we leaned into that even more, the speed, riffs and aggression of thrash, the weight and raw energy of hardcore, and the kind of groove that makes the songs hit differently live. We started pushing further into that fusion naturally, without trying to force it into one specific lane.
“The new EP is heavier, more aggressive and more focused, while still keeping the classic metal foundation that’s always been part of who we are. ‘Snakeskin’ is the first real look at that evolution and where Chained Saint is headed next, and we couldn’t be more excited for people to hear what’s coming.”

Determining the theme before writing began, the band started ‘dream journalling’: jotting down their nocturnal visions and working them into songs. “It’s been very helpful to write down my dreams,” said singer Katrine.
“It definitely affected how I wrote lyrics. I would love to do this again, have some sort of loose concept, it brings the record together.”
“Knowing the theme was dreaming was helpful to me musically too,” adds guitarist Florian.
“We could have these dreamy effects in there. I feel most of the songs have nightmarish or dreamy parts, one way or another. There are still a lot of different themes here though, there’s folklore, current events, introspective stuff, life and death… Everything can fit into dreams lyrically speaking, it’s just life, it’s all-encompassing.”

Love Is Noise – The Space Between Happiness and Heartache

“The more we wrote this record, the more we realised it wasn’t really about one person’s story — it’s about how people create versions of themselves just to get through modern life,” said vocalist Cameron Humphrey.
“We wanted to make something that felt real. Not polished to the point where it loses its humanity, but honest about the things that people don’t always want to talk about.
“The character has built this entire world to escape how they actually feel, but we never tell you exactly why. That’s really important to us. We don’t want to give the listener a beginning, middle, and end and tell them what it means. We want people to find themselves somewhere inside it.
“When we look back at ‘To Live In A Different Way’, we can hear where we were trying to get to.
“This feels like we’ve finally stopped worrying about what Love Is Noise is supposed to sound like. We had the confidence to do everything ourselves this time. Alex and I produced it, I played all the drums, Sam and Alex are properly embedded in the guitars and bass, and Alex has a much bigger vocal presence. It feels like the three of us are completely inside this record.”
The artwork has been hand drawn and the concept includes a website.
“Everything about this project had to feel human.
“There’s so much AI-generated stuff everywhere now, and we didn’t want to contribute to that. The artwork is made by an actual artist. Sam built the website. We produced the music ourselves. Every part of it comes from people who are actually in the band. That’s kind of the irony of the whole EP. It’s about someone creating a fake world because they can’t deal with reality, while we’re making something as real as we possibly can.”
Resolve – Spread My Ashes into Space
Resolve have announced new record Spread My Ashes into Space will be released on January 15, 2027 through Arising Empire.
Vocalist Anthony Diliberto said: “In a world where we value appearances over true worth, where aesthetics have replaced the soul, where numbers outweigh substance, where the façade is so often far removed from the truth, I no longer feel like I belong.
“Spread My Ashes Into Space is a record born from that suffocating feeling. It is a refusal to pretend anymore.
“Each song is a new destination, a different perspective, an attempt to make sense of a world that grows heavier on my shoulders with each passing day, in a society that has forgotten what truly matters. When my time comes, I dream that my ashes will be scattered among the stars, where perhaps authenticity and a sense of true peace still remain. There has to be something better out there.
“But this record is not just another reflection on the world around us. It is a voyage inward. Some songs unveil my deepest wounds, the scars and traumas that have shaped the way I see life and fueled these reflections. I’m not hiding anymore. Life, in its rawest form, is not all bliss and beauty. It is within this fragile balance between disillusionment and the longing for something beyond that this album finds its truest voice. Heavy Wild – Paradise Forever

Saxon – Gods of Thunder

Saxon will release new record Gods of Thunder on January 22, 2027, through Silver Lining Music.
The album news was accompanied by the titular track. “‘Gods of Thunder’ is a mighty tale of Celtic mythology, packed with the spirit and power of true heavy metal,” exclaims Biff Byford. “Turn it up and bang your head!”
“We had great fun making this album,” says Byford. “This is gonna be one to beat!”
