New Records Round Up: Teasers for September 19

Welcome to New Records Round Up, our one-stop shop to the latest albums and EPs to be announced!

In this week’s New Records Round Up, we bring you teasers for 10 recently announced albums!

God Alone – The Beep Test

God alone

God Alone will release new album The Beep Test on October 10 through Prosthetic Records.

Guitarist/vocalist Jake O’Driscoll said: “We’ve been a band since we were really young, and the genre-bending aspect has come a long way.

“In the past, it sort of resembled slapping random elements together. It’s more cohesive now. The Beep Test has influences from math rock, prog, and metal, but the songwriting is more mature and almost pop. The goal is for it to be different and interesting.”

Drummer Jack O’Hanlon said: “The only thing we recorded in a professional studio was the drums.

“We did everything else at home – which was new for us. However, it really allowed us to experiment with tones, because nobody is telling you to hurry up or play better. We were able to take our time and make the music the best it could be.”

“We’re most comfortable when we play live,” notes O’Driscoll. “So, we tried to make the album as live-sounding as possible. The dynamics of our live show are definitely present.”

Dusk will release debut album Sky is Falling on October 10 through Kanine Records.

The band said: “On our first international tour, “the sky is falling” seemed to summarise the infinite and indefinite possibilities ahead. It was a phrase that kept surfacing between that formative moment on tour and the nihilistic lull after returning home to normal work and life. Accepting the unknown has made us more comfortable experimenting and taking risks in our songwriting. Truly immersing ourselves, we’ve spent hundreds of rehearsals and live shows crafting and conceptualising this album.”

Creeper will release new album Sanguivore II: Mistress of Death on October 31 through Spinefarm.

It is a thematic sequel to hit album Sanguivore.

William Von Ghould said of the new story: “Beneath the flashing neon of a distant dream, a rock and roll nightmare is coming true. A vampire band rampages across 1980s America, leaving only corpses behind. But on the horizon, a shadow stirs. Part slasher, part satanic panic nightmare, a new force rises through the mist, ready to hunt the hunter. The Mistress Of Death is a vampire huntress on a path to end this vampire bloodline for good. But can she stake their hearts before the final curtain falls?”

Being asked to be part of an album with Mutt Lange has been a dream of mine since I first picked up a guitar. It has been almost 5 years of blood, sweat and actual tears to give these songs and stories life.

“This record encapsulates such an intense personal & musical journey and I am truly honoured to be able to now share this with the world via Frontiers. I hope that people find songs that they can connect with, that they can sing out the windows of their cars and shout from their apartment balconies, that they can dance to in their living rooms with the people they adore. I hope you all love Love & Other Crimes.”

Trivium – Struck Dead

Trivium

Trivium will release new EP Struck Dead on October 31 through Roadrunner Records.

Bassist Paolo Gregoletto said: “In 2023, we decided it was finally time to take the next step with The Hangar space we purchased — it was time to turn it into a full studio.

“We brought in designer Roger D’Arcy, thanks to an introduction from Mark Lewis, and set out on a year-long build. While construction was underway, we were deep in rehearsals for The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour, celebrating Ascendancy’s 20th anniversary. What started as an idea to release one single during the tour quickly grew into two, then three, as we kept writing while we were waiting for the build-out to be completed.

“During that time, the energy of revisiting Ascendancy started bleeding into these new songs. Matt poured a lot of his personal struggles from the past year into the music, and we used the writing process as a cathartic release. Those sessions evolved into a three-song EP that we’re incredibly proud of, and we can’t wait to debut ‘Bury Me With My Screams’ live at Bloodstock Open Air Festival.“

These were both musical and interpersonal dynamics that we had to release before we could make this record what it is.”
