Mirrortalk – Where Does Everyone Go When I Need Them Most?

Mirrortalk will release new record Where Does Everyone Go When I Need Them Most on November 27 through Hassle Records.
Mat Coffey said: “Mirrortalk has always been built on a desire to combine all the music we loved growing up; but ‘Where Does Everyone Go When I Need Them Most’ is our greatest nod to that yet.
“Elements of metal and hardcore, shoegaze, and pure rock have gone into every track, making it feel like a new offering that is grounded in some familiarity for people who are fans of the same music as us.
“The recording was done at Lower Lane Studios by our good friend Jonny Price, and if there’s one thing we took seriously while tracking, it was guitar tone. We wanted the release to be driven by the guitar, and throughout the process we dialled in and layered some sounds we feel are hitting the nail on the head for what Mirrortalk wants to sound like.
“Throughout our other releases we have tackled a lot of topics around mental health and self-battling. This continues through this release, but also touches on some other personal notes we hope people can feel connected to.
“Where Does Everyone Go When I Need Them Most is the best reflection of our direction, and we just hope people want to come along.”

Summer said: “I have never felt more confident in myself artistically and this EP is a really transparent form of self reflection that I’ve spent years running from in my personal life. I feel simultaneously so fragile and so incredibly tough most of the time and I feel like this EP really shows both sides of the same coin sonically and lyrically. Time to disrespect yourself (:”

Dean McMullen – Part Two

Dean McMullen will release his new indie folk album Part Two on December 4.
It is a very personal album, written around his family’s experiences with Parkinson’s disease, and profits will be donated to Parkinson’s UK.
Dean said:“I remember mum and dad sitting my brother and I down in 2011 – I was 18. Dad had been experiencing some unusual symptoms – his voice had become weaker – we’d all noticed that, but he also had strange feelings of fatigue and physical ‘hesitations’. It took quite some time for the doctor to reach a diagnosis because he was so young, but all too soon he’d joined the rapidly growing number of people affected by early on-set Parkinson’s Disease.
“While Parkinson’s itself is not contagious, in its own way it spreads throughout a family, gradually taking away opportunity, freedom, character and hope.
“I wrote these songs over a couple of years. They’re not only about my family’s experience with Parkinson’s, but many are and the rest are set within that context. There are lots of people in similar situations so I hope the songs reach them. More than that, I hope the project has a positive impact, raising funds, helping support families and prevent further suffering.
“Dad could fix anything – technically minded, endlessly resourceful and creative – he was a problem-solver. Stacked around his garage (which he built himself), were projects and past-times I couldn’t begin to understand. Give him any broken household item and an hour, it would come back working. He built his own drones before drones were commonplace, he even attached cameras to them. If there was a problem, he worked out a solution. “The Only Thing he couldn’t fix, was getting sick.”
“Any support you can offer, whether that be by helping share and spread word of the campaign, making a contribution or simply listening to the music, is so greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.”
Parkinson’s UK said: “We are incredibly grateful to Dean for choosing to support Parkinson’s UK through the release of this lovely album. Fundraising initiatives like this help us continue to fund groundbreaking research and provide vital support and information for people living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers across the UK. We wish Dean every success with the project and thank everyone who chooses to support it.”

DragonForce – DragonForce

Credit: Alex Bemis
DragonForce will release 10th album DragonForce on March 19, 2027, through Napalm Records.
It is the first album with vocalist Alissa White-Gluz.
“Every time we begin making another album, we just think, ‘Wow – I can’t believe we’re still doing what we love after all these years.’ The approach of the tenth album is as important as the first one, or any of the albums, because the way we look at music is we’re making a piece of art that’s going to be frozen in time,” says DragonForce co-founder and lead guitarist Herman Li.
“We always try to use everything we’ve learned from our years of experience, and put that into the new music. This is unlike any DragonForce album you’ve ever heard, and unlike any metal albums out there. There’s just nothing like it, and everyone listening will realize that straight away. We’re not trying to be commercial. We’re not trying to be popular. We’re not trying to be famous. We make music because we want to make something that we love to hear and elevate our musicianship to the next level.”
“I have loved the entire process of making music with DragonForce. It’s great to connect with such elite musicians and work together to really bring out the best of our respective styles.” adds Alissa White-Gluz, who became DragonForce’s first frontwoman this past spring.
“I think this new combo of speed and ferocity is refreshing and exciting. It’s going to be so much fun to perform live.”

Commoner – Former Self

Commoner will release new album Former Self on November 13 through Pure Noise Records.
Bassist Matthew Bryant said: “The album has a lot of themes of childhood and your own former self, but it also discusses how people around you have changed—and missing somebody else’s former self. We have songs that look back on how you yourself used to be back in the day, but we have songs about how everyone else has changed too.”
Vocalist Romin Mattison said: “Former Self is a window of reflection for each of our lives. For what it’s been and how we’ve learned to move forward. People change, situations change, life is full of it.
“As a band, we have always gravitated towards the works of bands who touch on moments of time as they are your own. Instances in which the experience has felt shared, rather than being preached. Our debut full length was a meditative piece for all of the members, and has allowed us to close a chapter in our writing that we had all felt needed conclusion.”
