Danny Rocco, the brains behind Des Rocs, said: “This record is about anyone who’s ever been knocked down and gotten back up.
“It’s for the people who keep goin’, even when it feels like the world’s against them. To Hell and Back is for the fighters, the dreamers and the survivors.
“This record is the culmination of everything I’ve ever done. It’s all those years of struggle wrapped up into one sonic battle cry. None of this music would’ve been possible without riding the roller coaster of tryin’ to make it in a band outta NYC.”

“We’re so proud that we’re still doing this, because we started the band 23 years ago. It’s astonishing really. This really is the purest Xcerts record there’s been since the first one. We dug really deep to discover what the defining sound of our band is and bled it all out”.

Vocalist Kevin Hart said: “A lot of bands make music about feeling bad but they’re so dialed-in. I think our message is a little more messy, but a lot more human.
“At the end of the day I’m kind of a quiet, angry guy. I don’t explode, I implode. So when it comes to the songs I don’t try to stop all that from coming through.“

Corella – A Beautiful World to Lose

Credit: Charles Agall
Corella will release new album A Beautiful World to Lose on September 18 through FLG.
Vocalist and guitarist Joel Smith said: “It definitely sounds fiercer than the last one and a lot has happened since we released our first album. We’re writing more for ourselves this time, but we also hope there’s plenty that listeners will be able to relate to. These lyrics have more grit to them, more heart, and we knew we had to be willing to make ourselves more vulnerable.”
Bassist Ben Henderson notes the darker undertone to this record, in its themes of loss, heartbreak and disillusionment: “A lot of the songs are that touch heavier, more aggressive, while others lean into that vulnerability we were reaching for. It’s been a huge learning curve, but I definitely feel like we got there.”

Vocalist Walter Schreifels said: “For this album, I was going back to a lot of my earlier influences about ‘break down the walls’ or ‘start today.
“Regardless of whether you’re into hardcore or youth crew, they’re really cool records because they’re speaking to the time and providing possible paths to a better future … with mosh parts. That’s the energy that I wanted to bring to this.”
“I’m really psyched to play these songs live. I feel really fortunate to still be playing music with these guys and be able to take it to different places.”
