Teen Suicide – Nude descending staircase headless

Credit: Maysa Askar
Teen Suicide will release new album Nude descending staircase headless on April 17 through Run For Cover Records.
“On the older records everything was self-recorded, home-recorded, on a laptop or on tape, and always with really limited resources,” Sam says. “I think we became known for that but it was also very limiting to be seen as a lo-fi band.”
“I think to write this kind of music you sort of have to pull from torment,” Kitty explains. “Our torment is more external. This is what we do, the only thing we know is making music, so the existential perils of these ever-changing machines and systems we’re trying to exist within is the stuff that’s driving us insane when we sit down to write a song.”
Tracklist:
Anhedonia
Idiot
Suffering (Mike’s way)
Spiders
The Knives
Everything in my life is perfect

Generation Radio – Take Two

Credit: Matthew Simmons
Generation Radio will release new album Take Two on April 17 through Frontiers Music SRL.
Jay DeMarcus stated: “Jason and I were fortunate enough to write our first single, ‘Montana Sky’, with our buddy Chas Sanford. It was actually written for the Chicago “XXX” record so we’re really excited we had the chance to finally cut it!”
DeMarcus said: “It was so much fun getting to make another record! We’ve been working on this one for a while and we can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been up to. Once again, we have contributions from all band members. These guys are amazing and it’s a honor to make music with them, I believe this record is our best work yet.”
Jason Scheff added: “Here we go! Take Two, round two. We had such a great reception on our first record we’ve been chomping at the bit to get this one finished and released. I’m extremely proud to show that we have a band that is still at the top of our game”.
“In what other industry can you deliver as kids and be able to go back in and create the quality of what you’ve been recognized for? I truly believe this work stands up to any of the records we’ve ever made creating some of pop and country’s biggest hits. I can’t wait to see how the public reacts to this one!”, he continued.

KOYO – Barely Here

Credit: Matt Fevrier
KOYO will release second album Barely Here on May 8 through Pure Noise Records.
“A lot of bands think their second album has to be this magnum opus epic that sews so many things together, and I think we’d actually taken more of that approach with our first LP.,” explains vocalist Joey Chiaramonte.
“So with Barely Here we wanted to do the opposite of that trajectory–we wanted to refine our strengths instead of doing this purposeful departure. It’s a snapshot of what our band is in its most no-frills, perfected form.”

Flatwounds – Chain of Command

Credit: Will Fredette
Flatwounds will release new EP Chain of Command on March 20 through Blue Grape Music.
Vocalist Colin O’Hare said: “Chain of Command represents how we’ve evolved and matured as musicians. This is our sound. It’s a little weird, dissonant, melodic, and heavy when it needs to be. The title works because most of the songs are about apathy and a lack of action. There’s always a ‘chain of command’ in life, and it keeps you from doing what you want. It could be societal or in your head. You always have to answer to something, though.”
Tracklist:
Emulator
Separate
Face It
Inertia

Zayn –Konnakol

Credit: Nabil Elderkin
Zayn will release new album Konnakol on April 17 through Mercury Records/Island Records UK.
Zayn said: “It’s that time again, I have been lucky enough to make a fifth studio album… KONNAKOL in its definition is the act of creating percussive sounds with one’s voice but what it means to me lies somewhere much deeper. It is a sound that holds the reverberation of a time before words existed. I have always drawn on my heritage for inspiration since I first started making my own music, this album is a development of that understanding, knowing more now than ever, who I am, where I come from and where I intend to go.”
